Lighting is an important thing that makes special effect in the room, including in the bathroom.
You need to pay extra attention when planning to choose the location of lamp in your bathroom. You know, water and electricity are two element things that cannot be united together. So, bathroom lighting must have right system and material for safety. For example, a bulb lamp must have protection from water sprinkling.
Generally, there are two lighting types that can be applied in bathroom. The first is global lighting (ambient lighting). Global lighting is used to light up whole bathroom space. It's usually placed at one point at the center of bathroom. One bulb lamp that hanged at center of room creates dramatic effect if combined with some of lamp that placed at corners of bathroom. These lamps model can be the imitation of gas lamp or modern-simple ceramic lamp.
The main lighting can use halogen lamps that placed at center or some corners of ceiling with right distances. Halogen lamp produces white light and makes room fresh and clear.
Second is lighting for mirror and washbasin. It can be applied by placing small tungsten lamp or halogen lamp at hidden place. The reflection of that light makes shiny effect on the wall.
Bathroom also needs natural lighting. Natural lighting can save electricity energy and it makes pretty effect. It can be applied by adding a glass window at one-third space of its ceiling. If bathroom is on second floor or higher, it is better to add a wide window that faces directly to specific panorama, like garden.
